First Solar to Join S&P 500

First Solar Inc. will move from the S&P MidCap 400 and join the S&P 500 effective Dec. 19, S&P Dow Jones Indices said Monday.

The solar technology company will replace Fortune Brands Home & Security Inc., which will move to the S&P MidCap 400 following the spin-off of its MasterBrand cabinets business and change its name to Fortune Brands Innovations Inc.

Effective Dec. 19, MasterBrand Inc. will join the S&P SmallCap 600, replacing retailer Conn's Inc., which is no longer representative of the small-cap market space, S&P Dow Jones Indices said.

Shares of Conn's were trading lower after the bell Monday. At 5:41 p.m. ET, the stock had fallen 7.77% to trade at $6.77. Year to date, the stock is down by more than 68%.
