0819 GMT - China's telecommunications industry will likely continue to see revenue growth, driven by emerging business sectors. The industry posted revenue growth of 6.9% on year in the first 10 months of 2023, Nomura analysts say in a research note, citing data from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Emerging sectors, which include cloud computing, big data and internet of things, contributed about 21% of the industry's revenue during this period, according to the data. Meanwhile, core businesses, such as broadband and mobile, offer solid cash flows to support dividend growth, the analysts add. Nomura likes China Mobile and China Telecom as defensive plays with solid earnings growth and attractive dividend yields. (gen.soledad@wsj.com)
