These scores are derived from three fundamental measures:  Return on Equity - a financial metric used to assess a company's profitability by revealing how effectively the money from shareholders' equity is being turned into net income. Essentially, ROE is the amount of net income returned as a percentage of shareholders' equity.  The accruals ratio - a measure used to determine the quality of a company's earnings by comparing the accruals portion of earnings to total net earnings.
