At a median follow-up of 22.3 months, the 702-patient trial indicated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement for Keytruda in terms of disease-free survival (DFS), one of its dual primary endpoints. However, the trial has yet to show statistically significant data for the other dual primary endpoint of overall survival (OS). When median follow-up reached 36.9 months, the median OS for Keytruda stood at 50.9 months, compared to 55.8 months for the off-drug arm. As for tolerability, there were no new safety concerns, while ~48% of patients who received Keytruda developed Grade ≥3 adverse events compared to ~32% in the observation arm. The AMBASSADOR trial was conducted by Merck (MRK) in partnership with Pfizer (PFE) unit Seagen and Japanese pharma Astellas (OTCPK:ALPMF) (OTCPK:ALPMY).
