Singapore Shares End Higher, Led by Genting Singapore -- Market Talk

0956 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index held on to early gains to close 0.4% higher at 3159.53. Genting Singapore led the advance, rising 3.6% after Singapore and China announced a 30-day visa-free arrangement between the countries starting on the eve of Lunar New Year. Other top gainers were Jardine Matheson Holdings, up 1.6%, and DFI Retail Group Holdings, 1.5% higher. Meanwhile, Venture Corp. led losses, dropping 1.9%. REITs fell, with Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust down 1.8% and Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust shedding 1.4%. (jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
