Quantum Computing on Wednesday tapped William McGann as chief executive as its co-founder and current CEO Robert Liscouski steps aside from that role.

The Leesburg, Va.-based quantum optics company said Liscouski would remain chairman of the board.

McGann has served as chief operating and technology officer of Quantum Computing since 2022 and previously served on the board.

Quantum Computing said in a regulatory filing Wednesday that the company had informed Liscouski that his employment would not be renewed for his position of CEO.

McGann's compensation will stay the same in his new role, the company said. According to a proxy filing, McGann earned $4.06 million in total compensation in 2022.
