Hong Kong Shares Post Biggest One-Day Gain in Seven Months -- Market Talk

0826 GMT - Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index closed 4.0% higher at 16136.87, marking its biggest one-day gain since July 2023. Investor sentiment appears to have been lifted after Central Huijin Investment, a state-owned investment company, pledged to buy more exchange-traded funds Tuesday. Longfor Group Holdings jumped 10.1%, Hansoh Pharmaceutical Group was up 9.6% and Country Garden Services gained 10.0%. CK Infrastructure Holdings was among the few decliners, and was down 1.7%. The Hang Seng Tech Index closed 6.75% higher at 3243.81. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
