Singapore Airlines' Outlook Brighter Than Expected -- Market Talk

Dow Jones02-12

0301 GMT - Singapore Airlines' revenue outlook seems stronger, as the carrier's passenger yield appears set to rise, Citi Research analysts say. They upgrade the stock to buy from sell and lift the target price to S$7.72 from S$5.74. SIA's forward ticket price curves for March-September have risen by 47% and 53% in business class and economy class, respectively, Citi estimates. That points to upsides for passenger yields--a key revenue measure for airlines--and FY 2025 earnings, the analysts say. Citi opens a 30-day upside catalyst watch on the stock, expecting potentially strong guidance from SIA at its upcoming business update. Shares last closed at S$6.80. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
