Singapore Shares Edge Lower; Inflation Data Awaited -- Market Talk

0936 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.1% lower at 3217.97 after trading in a tight sideways range between positive and negative territory. After rallying on hopes for Fed rate cuts this year, investors are likely turning toward February inflation data and industrial production data due out of the city-state next week. Among advancers, Emperador rose 2.3%, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding gained 1.6% and Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust was 0.95% higher. Meanwhile, Wilmar International lost 2.6%, Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust was 1.55% lower and Jardine Cycle & Carriage shed 1.4%.(kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
