Singapore Shares Fall 0.2%; Banks May See Further Upside -- Market Talk

0125 GMT - Singapore's benchmark FTSE Straits Times Index is 0.2% lower at 3212.55 in early trade. Singapore banks' share prices likely will see further upside, Citi Research analyst Yong Hong Tan says in a note, adding that the banks outperformed regional peers after the FOMC meeting tracking gains in U.S. banks. Among the gainers, Hongkong Land Holdings rises 1.3%, Emperador gains 1.15% and Genting Singapore is 1.1% higher. Among the decliners, Wilmar International is 1.4% lower, United Overseas Bank sheds 1.2% and Jardine Cycle & Carriage loses 0.85%. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
