South Korea's Kospi Falls 0.3%, Dragged by Defense, Auto Stocks -- Market Talk

0650 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi fell 0.3% to close at 2745.82, dragged by defense and auto stocks. Institutional investors were net sellers, with some booking profits after recent gains. Armored vehicle and howitzer maker Hanwha Aerospace fell 7.0%, snapping an eight-session winning streak. Car maker Hyundai Motor retreated 2.9% after advancing for two straight days. Meanwhile, chip-packaging equipment supplier Hanmi Semiconductor jumped 17% after media reports of a possible supply deal with Micron Technology. USD/KRW settled 0.2% lower at 1,346.20 in Seoul onshore trading. The benchmark 10-year government bond yield was last up 1.1 bps at 3.384%. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
