Electronic Arts' Bookings Expected to Hit Low-End of Guidance -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-28

1210 ET - Electronic Arts is expected to report bookings at the low end of its fiscal 4Q guidance, UBS analysts say in a research note after underwhelming quarter-to-date check-ins on the game maker's big titles. Metrics for its soccer franchise FC softened significantly from a year ago, when the men's World Cup in late 2022 drove strong engagement, the analysts say. They're looking for bookings to decline 11% in 4Q, reflecting FC softness along with limited title releases and the timing of content updates. The analysts expect 1Q guidance to be challenged by tough comps as well, given the lapping of Star Wars Survivor and PGA Tour releases a year ago and no comparable titles currently on the schedule.
