China's Online Ads to Grow Steadily, Benefiting Internet Firms -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-27

0654 GMT - China's digital advertising sector is likely to grow steadily in 2024 after staging a recovery in 2023, Deutsche Bank analyst Leo Chiang says. That bodes well for internet companies, as online advertising is one of most common ways for them to make revenue. The analyst says that despite a potential slowdown in the advertising market overall, Chinese companies are stepping up their online presence, indicating continued demand for online ads. Short-video platforms like Bilibili, and Tencent's Video Accounts, could continue to outperform, while travel verticals like Trip.com could maintain solid momentum due to strong travel demand, the analyst notes.
