House Speaker Mike Johnson suggested over the weekend that reversing Biden's pause on LNG export approvals could make it easier for Republicans to support a new aid package for Ukraine's fight against Russia. Reversing the pause could be tolerable to the White House in order to advance Ukraine aid, in part because the pause has no bearing on near-term LNG exports, according to the report, which cited unnamed sources. Front-month Nymex natural gas (NG1:COM) for May delivery closed +1.3% to $1.862/MMBtu, its highest settlement value since March 6.
