Global EV battery installed capacity jumped 44% in 2023, consultancy Counterpoint says

SHANGHAI, April 11 (Reuters) - Global battery installed capacity for passenger electric vehicles $(EV)$ grew by 44% year-on-year last year as EV makers expanded the range of their vehicles, consultancy Counterpoint Research said on Thursday.

Chinese battery makers grew faster than other players to account for more than two-thirds of the world's EV battery capacity last year, with CATL and BYD the main beneficiaries of market share gains, it added.
