Competition Among Canadian Telecom Is Eroding Investor Sentiment -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-10

1104 ET - Canadian telecoms are still caught up in high levels of competition and RBC's Drew McReynolds says investors aren't happy with the results. In a report, the analyst says that elevated competitive intensity through the seasonally-slower 1Q will translate to a very "ho-hum quarter" overall for the group. He says investor patience "is wearing about as thin as we have ever seen it with investor sentiment on the sector hitting new lows." He adds that 2024 guidance should "come under increased scrutiny as the year progresses raising the question of whether there are any true winners in this environment." (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
