Ng is also the founder of DeepLearning.AI, chairman and co-founder of Coursera (COUR), and an adjunct professor at Stanford University. Ng has also worked at Chinese tech giant Baidu (BIDU) and was a Founding Lead of Alphabet's (GOOG) (GOOGL) Google Brain (Deep Learning) Project from 2011 to 2012. In addition, Amazon said that board member Judy McGrath will not stand for re-election at the company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders. Separately, on Thursday, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy talked about the potential of AI and cost-cutting focus in his letter to shareholders. AI has become a key focus for the Seattle-based tech giant. Last month, Amazon announced that it made an additional $2.75B investment into Anthropic, bringing its total investment in the AI startup to $4B. The firm has created an AI chatbot called Claude, which competes with Microsoft (MSFT)-backed OpenAI's ChatGPT. Meanwhile, Amazon Web Services expanded its free credit program to make it easier for startups to use AI models.
