Shares of Auddia were soaring after the audio artificial intelligence platform secured a patent for technology for its flagship Faidr app.

The stock nearly tripled to $4.09 during Monday trading. Despite the intraday gain, shares remain down 35% year to date.

Faidr combines subscription-based AM/FM radio stations, podcasts with interactive digital feeds and a chat interface for music. Auddia was awarded with U.S. Patent 11,935,520 for the AI technology it uses to deliver AM/FM radio stations to paid subscribers.

"Issuance of this patent validates our innovation and secures our AI for Audio technology as a proprietary platform we look forward to building upon to drive new innovations in support of additional industry first premium audio listening experiences," said Auddia Executive Chairman Jeff Thramann.
