Singapore Shares Fall 1.0%, Weighed by Cautious Sentiment -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-15

0928 GMT - Singapore shares closed 1.0% lower at 3183.61, weighed by cautious sentiment. Investor sentiment is "likely to be fragile," as tensions in the Middle East escalate after Iran's attack on Israel over the weekend, ANZ Research analysts say in a note. Investors could also be keeping an eye on the city-state's non-oil domestic export data for March due out later this week. Among the worst performers on the benchmark index, Mapletree Pan Asia Commercial Trust fell 4.55%, Seatrium lost 3.7% and Sembcorp Industries was down 3.1%.(amanda.lee@wsj.com)
