1055 ET - Grindr launches a new feature that allows users to check into different areas of the world, part of its effort to foster connections before traveling. The company behind the dating app tailored toward LGBTQ+ communities says the feature is currently in testing in several markets and will launch broadly in 3Q. It adds that the new feature goes further than its current explore function as it allows users to go beyond seeing other profiles in different geographies. The latest feature builds on Grindr's plans to introduce functions that cater to how its users use the app as it looks to scale in size and reach. The offering is similar to features offered through premium subscriptions by other online dating companies such as Match Group and Bumble. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
