EUR/USD Could Fall Below 1.05 If Fed Doesn't Cut Rates in 2024 -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-16

1510 GMT - The market is still expecting almost two interest-rate cuts by the Federal Reserve this year and there's a risk that the market could price out some of these expectations, potentially sending EUR/USD below 1.05, says Olivier Korber, FX derivatives strategist at Societe Generale Research. "The outlook in the U.S. is shifting to the benefit of the dollar, while elsewhere it isn't changing much at all," he says in a note. Societe Generale Research's U.S. economist no longer expects Fed cuts in 2024, Korber says. EUR/USD is last up 0.1% at 1.0639 (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
