Benchmark Dutch TTF (NG1:COM) recently traded +2.5% at €31.93/MWh, after jumping as much as 5.6% to €32.90, heading for a fourth consecutive day of gains. ETFs: (NYSEARCA:UNG), (BOIL), (KOLD), (UNL), (FCG) While contracts earlier this month had lost ~30% of their value YTD following an exceptionally mild winter, they have now fully offset 2024's decline, according to Bloomberg. Europe does not source much of its gas from the Middle East, but its reliance on global markets has surged since it lost most pipeline flows from Russia in 2022. \"The threat of disruption to LNG tankers traversing the Strait of Hormuz has seen buyers quickly secure spot cargoes,\" ANZ Research analysts said. Meanwhile, an unplanned outage at Norway's Nyhamna gas processing plant has cut flows to the rest of Europe, providing further support to prices. On the bright side, storage levels remain high and are now nearly 62% full, well above last year, according to industry group Gas Infrastructure Europe.
