All-solid-state batteries, which are expected to be game-changers for EVs, have the potential for energy density approximately twice that of conventional lithium-ion batteries, significantly shorter charging time due to superior charge and discharge performance, and lower costs due to less expensive materials, the automaker said in a statement. Nissan said it plans to use all-solid-state batteries in a wide range of vehicle segments, including pickup trucks, making its EVs more competitive.  Last month, Nissan Motor (OTCPK:NSANY) launched a business plan aimed at driving value and enhancing both competitiveness and profitability. The plan also included 30 new models to be launched by fiscal year 2026, of which 16 will be electrified.  Japanese automakers are also partnering to explore ways to better compete with their Chinese and American peers, as competition in the electric vehicle market heats up.
