Singapore Shares Rise 1.05%, Tracking Most Regional Bourses -- Market Talk

Dow Jones04-18

0933 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index rises 1.05% to close at 3187.66, tracking gains across most regional markets. Investor sentiment on the local bourse continues to be lifted despite a lack of obvious positive catalysts, with the STI ending higher for a second straight session. Market participants are likely eyeing IMF comments on the global economy and the U.S. job data later. Among advancers, Jardine Cycle & Carriage rose 4.1%, Sembcorp Industries was up 3.3% and Jardine Matheson added 3.1%. Losers included Mapletree Logistics Trust, which was 2.2% lower, and Seatrium, which lost 1.3%. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
