0921 GMT - China's three major airlines are expected to return to profitability in 2024, despite continued pressure from fuel prices, foreign-exchange moves and lower passenger and cargo yields, HSBC analysts say in a research note. Solid 1Q travel data signal a promising 2Q for China's aviation industry, HSBC says. Among Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines, HSBC thinks Air China should benefit the most among on resilient travel demand, as it is the leader in terms of passenger yields domestically and it has the most number of EU routes among Chinese carriers.
