Toronto Stocks End Higher; Lithium Americas Slumps After Public Offering Prices -- Market Talk

1751 ET - Toronto stocks end higher, with the benchmark S&P/TSX Composite index rising 52 points, or 0.24%, to 21708. The blue-chip S&P/TSX 60 index gains 3 points, or 0.26%, to 1300. Utilities, non-energy minerals and distribution services sectors post gains, while energy minerals and retail trade industries post among the largest losses, according to FactSet. Lithium Americas posts a big decline after pricing its $275 million public offering at a discount to recent trading value. (ben.glickman@wsj.com; @benglickman)
