(SGX:1B0) for five years would be nursing their metaphorical wounds since the share price dropped 93% in that time.    We also note that the stock has performed poorly over the last year, with the share price down 49%.      We really hope anyone holding through that price crash has a diversified portfolio. Even when you lose money, you don't have to lose the lesson.   With the stock having lost 13% in the past week, it's worth taking a look at business performance and seeing if there's any red flags. When a company doesn't make profits, we'd generally hope to see good revenue growth.  As you can imagine, fast revenue growth, when maintained, often leads to fast profit growth.   Over half a decade mm2 Asia reduced its trailing twelve month revenue by 19% for each year.   That's definitely a weaker result than most pre-profit companies report. What About The Total Shareholder Return (TSR)? We've already covered mm2 Asia's share price action, but we should also mention its total shareholder return (TSR).  Arguably the TSR is a more complete return calculation because it accounts for the value of dividends (as if they were reinvested), along with the hypothetical value of any discounted capital that have been offered to shareholders.   We note that mm2 Asia's TSR, at -89% is higher than its share price return of -93%. When you consider it hasn't been paying a dividend, this data suggests shareholders have benefitted from a spin-off, or had the opportunity to acquire attractively priced shares in a discounted capital raising.   A Different Perspective We regret to report that mm2 Asia shareholders are down 42% for the year. Unfortunately, that's worse than the broader market decline of 3.5%.  Having said that, it's inevitable that some stocks will be oversold in a falling market. The key is to keep your eyes on the fundamental developments.     Unfortunately, last year's performance may indicate unresolved challenges, given that it was worse than the annualised loss of 14% over the last half decade.  Generally speaking long term share price weakness can be a bad sign, though contrarian investors might want to research the stock in hope of a turnaround.
