Interest Rates, Geopolitical Tension Keep U.S. Stocks Gloomy -- Market Talk

1606 ET - U.S. stock indexes mostly fall as corporations face the threat of high interest rates for longer. An Israeli strike against Iran overnight added to markets woes. Super Micro loses 23% after the AI hardware provider failed to give an expected positive update ahead of official results. NVIDIA falls 10%, bringing its market cap to below $2 trillion for the first time since February, as all the Magnificent Seven technology stocks lose market value this week. Nasdaq falls 5.5% this week, the S&P 500 loses 3% and the DJIA is flat, after gaining 0.6% today. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed down every day of the week. (paulo.trevisani@wsj.com; @ptrevisani)
