The casino stock was impacted by Las Vegas Sands (LVS) management's decision to renovate the Cotai Arena and parts of the London Phase II property during the quarter, which led to lower adjusted EBIDTA for the Macau segment than anticipated. CBRE Equity Research analyst John DeCree maintained a Buy rating on LVS, although he lowered the price target to $64 to reflect some of the construction disruption and a more conservative growth trajectory in Macau for 2025. Jefferies analyst David Katz kept a Hold rating in place on LVS on the expectation that broad market uncertainty in China will continue to weigh on shares. During the Las Vegas Sands (LVS) earnings conference call (transcript), management talked about some of the development projects the company is involved in. Chief Operating Officer Patrick Dumont said Las Vegas Sands (LVS) was very disappointed by the progress in New York. Meanwhile, CEO Robert Goldstein said development in Japan was called \"conceivable\" and said the company sees Thailand as a very exciting market that could see a property even before Japan. There was no update on efforts to pass gambling legislation in Texas. Within the Macau sector, Studio City International (MSC) fell 8.9% on Thursday and Melco Resorts & Entertainment (MLCO) shed 2.1%. Meanwhile, Wynn Resorts (WYNN) was down 1.5%.
