BUZZ-US energy sector rises after dollar slips

** S&P 500 Energy Sector rises 0.4%, tracking crude prices

** Brent crude up 1.2% at $88.09/bbl and U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude up 1.3% at $83.05/bbl, after the U.S. dollar index fell to its lowest in over a week and as investors shifted focus away from geopolitical issues in the Middle East to the state of global economies

** Energy majors Exxon Mobil and Chevron gain 0.2% and 0.1%, respectively

** Shares of Valero Energy , Phillips 66 , EQT Corp , Baker Hughes and Targa Resources , are among the top pct. gainers on the energy index, up between 0.9% and 1.9%
