Tesla $(TSLA)$: The EV maker's quarterly profit plunged, but Chief Executive Elon Musk sought to assuage some concerns by underscoring Tesla's commitment to bringing out less-expensive cars. The stock soared over 10% in premarket trading.

Earnings are due early Wednesday from AT&T $(T)$ and Boeing $(BA)$, among others.

Results from Facebook parent Meta Platforms (META) and IBM $(IBM)$ are expected after the market close. Meta shares rallied premarket, having risen 3% Tuesday.

Kering (FR:KER): The French luxury-goods company said its sales slumped last quarter, and forecast a sharp drop in operating profit for the first half of the year. The Gucci owner's shares tumbled more than 9%.

Mattel $(MAT)$: The toymaker's sales slipped last quarter, as the boom from last years Barbie movie eased, but its loss was smaller-than-expected. Mattel shares rose in offhours trading.
