Singapore Shares Rise 0.6%, Tracking Most Regional Markets -- Market Talk

0956 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.6% higher at 3293.13, tracking broad regional gains. Asian market sentiment was likely more positive after Wall Street rose overnight on positive U.S. earnings, including "better than feared" Tesla earnings, Visa's 1Q results beating expectations and Spotify hitting a record quarterly profit, Charu Chanana, Saxo's head of foreign-exchange strategy, says in a commentary. Among the advancers, DFI Retail Group rose 4.3%, Seatrium was 3.6% higher and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding gained 3.5%. Meanwhile, Jardine Cycle & Carriage fell 1.0% and DBS Group shed 0.7%.
