0814 GMT - Prudential PLC's weaker new-business margin in the first quarter brings into question longer-term growth trends, Citi analysts write in a research note. The insurance-and-investment business's new-business profit margins were weaker than expected largely due to mix effects as growth has been more dominated by the bancassurance channel in the Southeast Asia region, the analysts say. However, "the plans to update on its capital management plans by half-year results increases the probability of additional capital return which should be received well and help offset the underlying new business questions," the U.S. bank adds. Shares are 4.9% down at 705.20 pence. (najat.kantouar@wsj.com)
