Mercedes-Benz Group is scheduled to report results for the first quarter on Tuesday. Here is what you need to know.

REVENUE: The German luxury-car maker is expected to post quarterly revenue of 35.86 billion euros ($38.34 billion), to the Visible Alpha consensus, down from EUR37.52 a year prior.

NET PROFIT: The Visible Alpha consensus anticipates EUR2.73 billion in net profit compared with EUR3.945 billion in the first quarter of last year.

At 1557 GMT shares were trading at EUR74.79, up about 20% year to date and 5.9% over the last 12 months.

WHAT TO WATCH

-- Analysts see the slow start to the year for the cars division being driven by supply issues, product mix, and challenging market conditions being experienced industry wide. Also, the financial services arm is under pressure from high interest rates and intense competition in China, while the vans division is expected to post solid numbers, HSBC analysts said in a research note.

-- Investors will be interested in potential boons, such as updates on supply constraints for models like the GLC and E-class, which if eased could improve volumes.

-- Launches planned for the carmaker's core segment and a push for the high-margin AMG models are expected to contribute to improved sales volumes later in the year, making any information on demand for these models and other new launches interesting for investors.
