1336 ET - Match Group investors are looking for improvements in 1Q results to drive an inflection point that can change the narrative on dating app Tinder and online dating at large, says Ygal Arounian, analyst at Citi, in a research note. Shares of the online dating company have been weighed down due to an overhang of challenged user growth at Tinder and the online dating category. Given guidance doesn't call for paying users to increase sequentially until 3Q, Arounian is looking for trend improvements and updates there that can begin to shift investor sentiment and drive multiple expansion. Another key focus item will be any noticeable strategic changes after activist Elliott Investment Management's involvement resulted in two additional board appointments.
