Diageo's Change of CFO Seems a Step in the Right Direction -- Market Talk

Dow Jones05-03

1115 GMT - Diageo's appointment of Nik Jhangiani as CFO could be well received by investors, RBC Capital Partners analysts James Edwardes Jones and Emma Letheren write in a research note. The London-based beverage company said that Jhangiani--who is currently Coca-Cola Europacific Partners' CFO--will replace Lavanya Chandrashekar. Coca-Cola Europacific Partners has performed admirably since Jhangiani became CFO in 2013, they say. The change could be seen as positive, the analysts say, noting that Diageo's weak share performance partly reflects doubts around financial communication and mistakes from senior management. Shares trade 0.9% higher at GBP27.52. (andrea.figueras@wsj.com)
