BUZZ-PREVIEW: Goodyear Tire climbs ahead of results due after the bell

** Shares of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co were up about 2% in afternoon trading Mon ahead of the company's quarterly results due after the closing bell

** The broader market was also higher, with the S&P 500 up 0.7%

** Goodyear is expected to report a decrease in rev to $4.815 bln from $4.941 bln in the yr ago period, while it is expected to post earnings of 1c/shr vs an adjusted loss of 29c a yr ago, according to LSEG data

* The co has beaten analysts' expectations on earnings six of the past eight reporting periods, per LSEG

** Analyst recommendations on the stock include five "strong buy" or "buy" ratings, five "hold" ratings and no "sell" or "strong sell" ratings, based on LSEG data

** The median 12-mo price target for Goodyear is $15.40​; the stock was last at $12.49

** In March, Goodyear said it plans to shut down its plant in Malaysia on June 30 - a decision expected to affect more than 500 employees

** Including the session move, GT was down nearly 13% for the YTD, while the Nasdaq is up 8.5% in that period ​​​
