New York will partner with Axon Enterprise unit Fusus to allow businesses to share their security camera footage with police, part of a push by Mayor Eric Adams to curb retail theft.

Under the new partnership, business can opt in to share real-time closed-circuit television footage from existing cameras with the New York Police Department, the mayor's office said Thursday.

Fusus aggregates live video and other data feeds for crime monitoring. The NYPD and Fusus conducted a proof-of-concept program last year, and have since inked a one-year $1.5 million deal for Fusus to expand its service to nine more police precincts.

Axon, best known for making Tasers, acquired Fusus earlier this year.
