Dycom Industries 1Q Profit Rises on Growing Contract Revenue

Dycom Industries posted higher top and bottom line results in its latest quarter.

The telecommunications contractor logged net income of $62.6 million, or $2.12 a share, for the first quarter ended April 27, up from $51.5 million, or $1.73 a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.47 a share.

Contract revenues edged up to $1.14 billion from $1.05 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $1.09 billion.

The Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.-based company forecast organic contract revenues to grow by high-single digits as a percentage of contract revenues for the quarter ending July 27 compared to the prior year. It also guided for about $70 million of acquired contract revenues for the quarter.
