NTT DATA Japan to Acquire Majority Stake in GHL Systems for MYR724 Million; GHL Systems' Shares Jump 4%

NTT DATA Japan's (TYO:9613) agreed to acquire 58.73% of Malaysian payment service provider GHL Systems (KLSE:GHLSYS) for 724.1 million ringgit, according to a Tuesday Malaysian bourse filing.

Under the deal, the Japanese information technology company will buy 670,440,235 shares from major shareholders, including Actis Stark (Mauritius), APIS Growth 14, Loh Wee Hian, and Tobikiri Capital.

Through CIMB Investment Bank, NTT DATA Japan will execute an unconditional mandatory take-over offer to buy out the remaining stake in GHL Systems, according to the rules of Bursa Malaysia.

The offer price is set at 1.08 ringgit per share, in line with the acquisition price from the major shareholders, the filing noted.

Shares of GHL Systems jumped 4% recently in Malaysia.
