Singapore Exchange's Turnover Volume Recovery Not Priced in Yet -- Market Talk

Dow Jones05-28

0314 GMT - Singapore Exchange's recent recovery in turnover volume hasn't been factored in by the street, Citi Research analyst Yong Hong Tan writes in a note. The recovery in derivatives daily average volume and securities daily average value could lead to upside earnings, Tan writes. SGX is focused on growth and diversification, and measures to boost trading liquidity could provide future positive catalysts, Tan adds. Citi raises its profit estimates for the current FY by 4-6%, citing higher trading volumes due to the market's increased volatility. Citi raises its rating to buy from sell, with a higher target price of S$10.70 from S$8.50 previously. Shares are 2.45% higher at S$9.63. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
