Market Chatter: LONGi, Trinasolar Suspend Operations in Select Southeast Asian Plants

MT Newswires Live06-10

LONGi Green Energy Technology (SHA:601012) suspended the operations of a battery plant in Vietnam, Reuters reported Saturday.

This follows the reports that the photovoltaic panel giant stopped operations in the Southeast Asian country, the report said. LONGi earlier denied the rumors, saying they only tweaked production schedules in Vietnam and Malaysia.

Trinasolar (SHA:688599) also stated that its plants in Thailand and Vietnam will undergo maintenance shutdown, according to the report.

The closures come after a tariff holiday imposed by the US on solar panels form Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam expired Thursday, Reuters said.
