In the wake of the recent moves in the U.S. 2-year Treasury yield (US2Y) and the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield (US10Y), Société Générale spotlighted key technical levels that investors should watch. U.S. 2-Year Treasury yield The investment institution indicated that the 2-year has experienced a sideways consolidation since April, highlighted by a crisscrossing of moves around the 200-day moving average. Société Générale noted that the lower band of the range near 4.70% remains a crucial near-term support marker. The institution went on to say only if this level would be breached then there would be a further risk of an extended downtrend. “In the short term, the recent test of 4.70% has resulted in an up move, and the 2y UST could inch higher towards the upper part of the range near 5.00%. Graphical levels at 5.04%/5.08%, representing the peak of last November, could be an important resistance zone,” Société Générale stated. See the technical chart that the firm provided:  U.S. 10-Year Treasury yield Société Générale added that the 10-year has reclaimed it's 200-day moving average, denoting a lack of steady downward momentum. At the same time, the formation of a weekly hammer candlestick also suggests exhaustion towards the downside. “A short-term up move towards the descending trend line drawn since last October at 4.63% is likely. If this is overcome, a larger uptrend can’t be ruled out towards 4.73% and perhaps even towards projections of 4.86%,” the firm stated.
