The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) was down 0.5%.
In corporate news, Silk Road Medical (SILK) shares surged almost 24% after it struck a deal for Boston Scientific (BSX) to acquire the medical device company for $27.50 per share, representing an equity value of about $1.26 billion.
DermTech (DMTK) sank 51% after it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as part of its ongoing review of strategic options.
Sintx Technologies (SINT) said its board has started a process to explore potential strategic options for the firm. Its shares fell 2%.
