Microsoft's (MSFT) Xbox Chief Marketing Officer Jerret West is leaving the company at the end of the month to join Roblox (RBLX) as its CMO and head of market expansion, The Verge reported Monday, citing an internal memo by Microsoft Gaming Chief Executive Phil Spencer.
Microsoft is reportedly reorganizing its marketing teams following West's departure, including moving the Xbox marketing team to the Xbox org and the games marketing team to the game content and studios division.
Microsoft and Roblox didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
West previously worked at Microsoft for eight years in Xbox marketing, then spent seven years as head of marketing at Netflix (NFLX) before returning to Microsoft in 2019 to oversee the launch of the Xbox Series S/X consoles, according to his LinkedIn profile.
