Singapore's Straits Times Index remained flat on Wednesday, as stocks mirrored the sluggish activity from the previous week.
During the day, the benchmark Singapore Strait Times Index ranged between 3,304.00 and 3,326.26, ending 0.07% or 2.22 points higher at 3,304.00.
In company news, GS Holdings (SGX:43A) shares surged over 24% after it proposed to undertake a renounceable non-underwritten rights issue of up to 570,888,708 shares in the capital of the company, at an issue price of SG$0.015 per rights share.
Shares of Sarine Technologies (SGX:U77) were down nearly 2% after it bought back 5,000 shares in the open market on Tuesday for SG$1,384 or SG$0.27 apiece.
Meanwhile, shares of Sembcorp Industries (SGX:U96) were up nearly 1% after its wholly owned subsidiary, Sembcorp Solar Vietnam completed the acquisitions of majority interests in three subsidiaries of GELEX Group Joint Stock Company.
