Singapore Airlines' traffic recovery appears to be ahead of its peer group average in the Asia-Pacific region, Jefferies research analysts write in a note.
The carrier's asset retention and protection of resources like the crew and staff have driven a 14% lead in traffic recovery ahead of its peers, Jefferies estimates. SIA's traffic is close to pre-Covid levels, with its APAC market share mostly unchanged even though travel recovery with China is still ongoing, they say.
SIA is also seeing higher demand for business class travel compared with pre-Covid despite the lagging recovery in corporate travel, which suggests SIA is tapping into new customer segments looking for premium options, they add.
