** Shares of Six Flags Entertainment up 3.6% at $31.12 and Cedar Fair's stock up 2.3% at $50.39 premarket after U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) gives amusement park operators go-ahead to merge

** Both cos announce they will proceed with closing of the merger, expected to occur on Mon, Jul 1

** Following the closing, combined co will be renamed “Six Flags Entertainment Corporation”

** Trading in combined co's stock on NYSE anticipated to begin on Tues, Jul 2 under ticker "FUN"

** Six Flags and Cedar Fair announced mergerin Nov in deal valued at $8 bln, including debt

** SIX shares closed at $19.90 on Oct 31, the day before Reuters reported of merger talks between the firms. FUN shares closed at $35.50 on Oct 31
