AEM's Share Price Could Be Weighed by Proposed Divestment -- Market Talk

Dow Jones06-26

0628 GMT - AEM's share price could be weighed by a recent proposal to sell shares in a South Korean company, DBS Group Research says in a note. The Singapore semiconductor-equipment maker has proposed unloading its stake in Ateco, a memory test handler manufacturing company, at about a S$2 million loss, the team notes. The divestment could also bring AEM's FY 2023 pro forma loss per share to S$1.05 as compared with a loss per share of S$0.40 pre-transaction, DBS adds. The team expects downward revisions to earnings estimates with the one-off loss from the disposal representing 9% of its FY 2024 earnings forecast. DBS has a hold call on the stock and targets S$1.97. Shares were last at S$1.85. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
