Williams May Narrowly Trail Expectations in Q2, Long-Term Prospect Strong, UBS Says

MT Newswires Live06-28

Williams Companies' (WMB) Q2 results in some metrics may lag sequentially, from a year ago and behind consensus when it shares results in early August, UBS said in a note.

Chief among their revisions, UBS trimmed forecast for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization during the three months ending June 30 to $1.60 billion from $1.62 billion, reflecting producer pullbacks and shut-ins due to lower commodity prices and higher seasonal operating expenses. The lower expectations are seen across most of Williams' regional and operating segments. The consensus calls for EBITDA of $1.67 billion.

UBS has a buy recommendation for Williams and a $47 price target. The analysts said the company is "well positioned" to benefit from increased demand for natural gas and LNG to cater for the electricity needs of AI-driven data centers.

Besides operational updates, the focus of the next earnings call will be on low carbon opportunities from New Energy Ventures and emission reduction programs.
